The Under the Radar Game of the Day returns to the Mid-American Conference tonight for a battle between division leaders as the Akron Zips (15-3 overall, 5-0 in conference) play host to the Eastern Michigan Eagles (12-6, 4-1). Akron is coming off of one of their best wins of the season, defeating an admittedly short-handed Ohio U team 83-68 behind Kwan Cheatham’s 17 points and 13 rebounds. A home win tonight could put the Zips in a commanding position moving forward this season for the #1 seed in the MAC tournament. Eastern Michigan picked up a solid home win earlier this week against Western Michigan behind James Thompson’s 26 points and 11 rebounds. Although tied with Northern Illinois for the West Division lead, EMU has a chance to take a huge step towards both the division title and a top seed in the MAC tournament if they can pull off the road upset tonight.
