Under The Radar Postseason News, Notes and Highlighted Games – Saturday, March 18

While the first round of the NCAA Tournament was being played yesterday, one major vacancy in the coaching carousel was filled. Kevin Keatts accepted the NC State job the day after UNC-Wilmington was eliminated in the NCAA Tournament. With Dayton also losing to Wichita State last night, expect Archie Miller’s name to be thrown into just about every major vacancy within a 200-mile radius of Dayton.

There are only 2 games scheduled for today outside of the NCAA Tournament – both are listed below. The CBI will resume on Monday night with 4 quarterfinal games.

NIT

(5) OLE MISS at (1) SYRACUSE (11:00 AM, ESPN). This is the lone 2nd round NIT matchup scheduled for today. Syracuse won their opener against UNC-Greensboro at home on Wednesday and will play against an Ole Miss team that won on the road at Monmouth on Tuesday.

CIT

SAINT FRANCIS U at UMBC (2:00 PM, Facebook Live). This is the only 2nd round game scheduled for the CIT today. St. Francis won on the road at Jacksonville earlier in the week and their reward is another road game against a UMBC team coming off of a win against Fairfield last Wednesday. While the Red Flash won the Hugh Durham Classic earlier in the week, there are no more trophy games on the line until the CIT championship game in a couple of weeks.
