Ball State (9-4, 0-0 MAC) at Toledo (12-1, 0-0 MAC) – 7:00 PM EST (CBS Sports Network)

Tonight’s UTR Game of the Day takes us to the Glass City where the Ball State Cardinals will pay a visit to the Toledo Rockets. Ball State did start the season with a rough 3-game stretch that saw losses at Purdue and against Virginia Tech and Alabama in an exempt event in South Carolina, but they have also won games against Indiana State, at Loyola-Chicago and at Valparaiso in the process. Three players average at least 14 points a game for Ball State – their tandem includes Tayler Persons (16.8 PPG), K.J. Walton (15.0 PPG) and Tahjai Teague (14.5 PPG).

Toledo comes into tonight’s game with arguably the best resume among UTR teams in the country – they are currently on a 10-game winning streak after a loss against Wright State back in November. They won the Gulf Coast Showcase with wins against Florida Gulf Coast, Louisiana and UC-Irvine. They also won at Marshall and dump-trucked Penn (one of the Ivy League favorites) in the process. Jaelan Sanford averages 17.8 PPG and 3.5 RPG; Willie Jackson also averages a double-double for the Rockets (11.1 PPG, 10.8 RPG). As big as tonight is for Toledo, they best not overlook Ball State with a matchup at Buffalo awaiting them next Tuesday night.
