While there are lots of games involving teams at the top of their respective conferences, not many people will notice that this game is among them. But today, on the banks of the Hudson River, the Black Knights of Army will play host to the Lehigh Mountain Hawks for a Patriot League matinee. Lehigh is tied for first in the Patriot League standings with Bucknell. However, Bucknell has the inside track for the #1 overall seed (and home-court advantage for the conference tournament) with a win at Lehigh earlier in the season. The Mountain Hawks did have to go overtime in their last outing against archrival Lafayette, but a 33-point performance that included 14 points in OT from Jordan Cohen assured that Lehigh remains tied for first coming into today’s game.

Although they did lose by twenty points at Duke early in the year, Army did demonstrate early in the season that they could compete with anyone in the country deep into a game. Army is also similar to Lehigh in that they also have a home loss to Bucknell and a road loss to Colgate on their league docket so far. They also have a loss at Loyola-Maryland that puts them a game behind first place at this point, though. The Black Knights have won their last four games at home that include wins against Colgate and Holy Cross. Matt Wilson leads Army with 14.0 PPG and 8.6 RPG.
