Welcome back to the Bracket Racket, the only combination videocast and podcast covering the entirety of college basketball! On tonight’s show, Galen, David, and Kyle take you through an intriguing first weekend of hoops action, focusing attention first on the silly yet effective dramatics of John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats as they take their behemoth parade of talent into Chicago for an early-season clash with stalwart Michigan State. We then turn our gaze to a smorgasboard of early-season clashes between notable teams, including Oregon’s Korean-set encounter with Georgetown, UConn’s surprising squeaker over Maryland, and Alabama’s offensive dismantling at the hands of Oklahoma.
We also take a look at the somewhat rough weekend start for the new Los Angeles-area coaches, and also examine the struggles that the Pac 12 ran into during its first weekend of play. Also examined are the first edition of the “WTF Games”. Finally, we focus on the upcoming tilts for the next couple of days, including UK-Michigan State, Kansas-Duke, Florida-Wisconsin, and Denver-California.
