Cal State-Bakersfield (10-11, 4-2) at New Mexico State (15-6, 6-0) – 9:00 PM EST (WAC Digital Network)
Tonight’s UTR Game of the Day takes us to Las Cruces, New Mexico where the New Mexico State Aggies will host the Roadrunners of Cal State-Bakersfield in a 1-2 matchup of the WAC. New Mexico State comes into the game on a 9-game winning streak; it started with wins against Arkansas-Pine Bluff at home and on the road at Mississippi State before starting league play with six straight wins. Three Aggies average double figures and are led by Trevelin Queen (14.7 PPG).
Bakersfield has gotten off to a 4-2 start in league play, although two of their losses in league play came against league contenders California Baptist and Seattle. The Roadrunners have only played two league games away from home – both wins at Kansas City and at Chicago State. Tonight is the beginning of a road trip that also includes stops at UTRGV and a return game at California Baptist. Ten different players have started at least three games for the Roadrunners this season – they are led by Taze Moore (11.9 PPG) and De’Monte Buckingham (10.4 PPG/4.5 RPG).
