Akron (21-6, 11-3) at Bowling Green (20-7, 11-3) – 7:00 PM EST (ESPN+)
The fate of the MAC regular season title hangs in the balance for tonight’s game between the Akron Zips and the Bowling Green Falcons. Akron comes into tonight’s game with a five-game winning streak that was highlighted by a 74-59 victory over the Falcons in the team’s first matchup in Akron. Loren Cristian Jackson had 28 points and the Zips overall held Bowling Green to under 36% shooting from the field in that game. Akron also has wins against each of the Michigan schools along with Mother Miami in their current winning streak.
Bowling Green is 11-2 in their last 13 games, and Justin Turner is almost singlehandedly making a case for MAC Player of the Year in the process. He hit a pair of free throws that sealed a win against archrival Toledo at home back on February 8; he also hit a game-winning shot last Saturday that gave BGSU a come-from-behind 62-61 victory against the Ohio Bobcats. Tonight is the beginning of a four-game stretch for Bowling Green where they will also travel to Kent State and host Buffalo in the regular season finale (with a trip to Mother Miami mixed in).
