It was a huge weekend for the Big East with three games where both teams were tournament contenders either going to overtime or coming down to the wire. We look at how Xavier remains undefeated while continuing to improve, how Villanova is still the frontrunner with Creighton very close behind them, and how much Providence has improved in recent weeks. Some of the top teams in the Big Ten had a rough week with Illinois falling at Rutgers (who is the story of the conference), Iowa losing to Gonzaga, and Michigan State dropping a game at Northwestern. The Big 12 now has four teams in the top ten in Kansas, Texas, Baylor, and West Virginia and Texas Tech isn’t far behind. Gonzaga continues to play and beat highly ranked teams, Houston and SMU are the frontrunners in the American, BYU had a really big week with their win at San Diego State, and Missouri is the surprising frontrunner in the SEC.
