Murray State (3-2, 1-0) at Austin Peay (4-3, 0-1) – 9:00 PM EST (ESPNU)
Winter is now officially upon us and we head to the Ohio Valley Conference for a matchup between two of the top teams in the conference – the Murray State Racers will travel down I-24 for a matchup against the Governors of Austin Peay. Murray State blew out the Govs 87-57 in the first matchup between the two teams at Murray – Tevin Brown scored 19 points to lead the Racers in that game.
Things looked good for the Govs in the first two games of the year when they beat both Omaha and East Tennessee State in the Gulf Coast Showcase, but their only two wins since that time came against non-D1 competition. While their loss against Abilene Christian was not terribly shocking, a blowout loss at Murray and a home loss to Florida A&M have really hurt the Govs in recent weeks. Terry Taylor is averaging close to 20 points a game for Austin Peay, but he is going to need more help soon if the Govs are to remain in the thick of the hunt for the OVC race.
