-Northwestern lost their sixth straight game as Wisconsin totally dominated the second half.  Losing on the road to Wisconsin isn’t a problem, but the 6th straight is definitely a problem.

-Providence, after losing several heartbreakers this season, got a big win at Creighton last night 74-70.  It was close all throughout, but the Friars maintained a lead for most of the game, and were able to hold on to it down the stretch.

-Clemson lost their second straight game, and it was the second time in a row they were blown out.  Georgia Tech played what was probably their best game of the year in the 83-65 win.  The Yellow Jackets are suddenly 7-3 on the year and 3-1 in the ACC with a few decent looking wins.

-Winthrop defeated Presby to remain unbeaten.  We will keep pointing that out until they lose a game.

-VCU had a 14pt lead over Saint Bonaventure into the second half, and then just quit playing.  The Bonnies totally dominated the last part of the game and ended up with a 70-54 win, which is big for a team that we think is good, but who needs games on their resume.  The Bonnies are now 7-1 on the year and looking as good as anyone in the Atlantic Ten.

-Colorado had been playing well and appeared to have an easy game at Washington last night, but the Huskies looked like a brand new team and held off the Buffs.  The 84-80 win is just the second of the year for Washington, and as of now a really bad looking loss for Colorado.

HIGHLIGHTED GAMES

-USC AT STANFORD (Pac 12).  USC could really use a win, and Stanford pretty much desperately needs a win.  Both teams should be feeling quite a bit of urgency coming into this one.

-RUTGERS AT PENN STATE (Big Ten).  Winning at Penn State isn’t necessarily easy, but making the NCAA Tournament isn’t easy and requires that teams be able to do things that aren’t easy.  Rutgers has been in a bit of a tailspin and needs to pull themselves out of it today.

-WICHITA STATE AT MEMPHIS (American).  I think Wichita State’s stock is rising.  This is another winnable road game and a chance to give their resume another little boost.

-EASTERN ILLINOIS AT BELMONT (Ohio Valley).  Belmont can improve to 15-1 with a win.  Anything short of winning out will likely require the automatic bid, but there may be room for them inside the bubble if they are able to win out.

INDIANA AT IOWA (Big Ten).  Iowa looks like a team that will land on the top two lines, and they shouldn’t have too much trouble holding serve tonight.

-UCLA AT CALIFORNIA (Pac 12).  The Bruins are playing really well right now and should be able to hold serve against Cal.  UCLA is ranked 24th, and they should probably even be a little higher than that.

-PORTLAND AT BYU (West Coast).  BYU is a solid tournament team and shouldn’t have too much trouble at home tonight against Portland.

-SAN FRANCISCO AT SANTA CLARA (West Coast).  Santa Clara has quite a bit of weight to lift if they want to land inside the bubble, but I do think they at least have a path.  It goes without saying that they need to win this one tonight.

-COLORADO STATE AT UTAH STATE (Mountain West).  Utah State won decisively the other night and continues to at least pass the eye test for an NCAA Tournament bid.  They need to keep building up their resume, though.
