Under the Radar Game of the Day – Wednesday, February 3

UNC-Greensboro at The Citadel, 7:00 PM Eastern, espn+

The Under the Radar Game of  the Day turns its focus to the Southern Conference tonight as the UNC-Greensboro Spartans head to Charleston to take on The Citadel Bulldogs.  UNCG enters tonight’s game at 12-5 overall, 7-2 in SoCon play and on an impressive 6 game winning streak that includes a win at Chattanooga, a win over Mercer and an 87-73 victory over The Citadel two weeks ago.  This streak has turned the Spartans from an afterthought in the SoCon to a team tied for first place in the loss column with a real shot at capturing the league regular season crown (though two games against Furman do await next week).  Isaiah Miller leads the way for UNCG with 18.8 points and 6.7 rebounds per game this year.

The Citadel has been quietly putting together one of their best seasons in years, sitting at 9-6 overall, though only 2-6 in SoCon play.  The Bulldogs shocked the conference a week ago with a 77-69 win over Wofford, one of the teams in the battle with Greenboro for the conference crown.  Hayden Brown is averaging a double-double for the Bulldogs with 20.6 points and 10.6 rebounds per game, while Kaiden Rice is scoring over 18 points per game to complement Brown.  The Citadel is one of the fastest paced teams in the nation (#2 in Tempo according to KenPom) and will need an offensive onslaught against UNCG’s tough defense if they want to end Greensboro’s win streak and send the Spartans back to North Carolina with only their second road loss of the season.
