Under the Radar Game of the Day – Wednesday, February 10

Furman at UNC-Greensboro, 5:00 PM, ESPNU

For the second time in three days, the Under the Radar Game of the Day turns its attention to a matchup in the Southern Conference between Furman and UNC-Greensboro, with tonight’s contest being played in Greensboro, North Carolina.  The Furman Paladins (12-6, 6-3) won at home on Monday night by a dominating score of 68-49.  Alex Hunter led the way with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists while teammate Jalen Slawson came off the bench to score 14 points grab 6 boards and record 5 blocked shots.  Furman is now tied in the loss column for the conference lead with UNCG, East Tennessee State and Wofford.

The host Spartans of UNC-Greensboro (13-6, 8-3) needs to play much better on offense if they want to avoid being swept in the home-and-home series.  Isaiah Miller did lead his team with 14 points, but that was below his 18.3 season average.  If the Spartans cannot perform much better on offense, UNCG is in danger of falling behind the top teams in the conference and will certainly have their work cut out if they want any shot at the regular season title.  For now, at least, the Spartans do control their own destiny for the conference title if they can win out their final seven games.
