Grambling at Jackson State, 5:30 PM Eastern, NBATV
Yesterday, Prairie View A&M remained undefeated in SWAC play picking up a hard-fought road win at Texas Southern to improve to 7-0 in conference. The Jackson State Tigers will attempt to keep pace this afternoon as they host Grambling in our Under the Radar Game of the Day. Today’s game (and the women’s game which precedes it at 2:00 PM Eastern) will also be the first ever college basketball games broadcast live on NBATV.
Jackson State is currently 6-0 in SWAC play (6-5 overall) and has not lost a game yet in the 2021 calendar year. Tristan Jarrett leads the scoring for the Tigers with 19.5 points per game, while teammate Jayveous McKinnis is averaging a double-double with 13 points and 13.1 rebounds per game. Today’s opponent, Grambling State, is led by Cam Christon’s 12.4 points per game. Sarion McGee’s 13 points led Grambling back on January 23 when they lost at home to Jackson State 75-61. In that game, Jarrett scored 24 points and McKinnis had a double-double for Jackson State. Grambling needs to find a way to slow down both players if they want to pull the upset tonight and knock Jackson State down into second place in the league standings.
