Mississippi University for Women (0-0) at Troy (1-0) – 7:00 PM (ESPN+)
No, that is not a misprint – Troy will be playing a school that has been officially co-ed since 1982. Per Wikipedia, they were founded in 1884 as the Industrial Institute and College for the Education of White Girls. While they were renamed the Mississippi College for Women in 1920, they were not racially integrated until 1966 (and even then, dormitories were not integrated until 1968). Because of a Supreme Court case in 1982, what finally became the Mississippi University for Women finally admitted men into the university – hence the name of the university.
As for Troy, they debuted their season against non-D1 opponent Montevallo on Monday with an 87-67 victory. Barring a catastrophic loss tonight, Troy should be 2-0 after tonight for the first time since 2016-17 before beginning the D1 portion of their schedule with a game at Florida State on Monday night. Nelson Phillips led the Trojans with a 17-point performance against Montevallo.
