Stonehill (8-13, 4-3) at Fairleigh Dickinson (12-9, 5-1) – 6:00 PM ET (NECFrontRow)
We at Hoops HD love the Northeast Conference, and today’s games conclude with a matchup of two of the top NEC teams as the Stonehill Skyhawks Stoners visit the Knights of Fairleigh Dickinson. Stonehill, as expected, has had a lot of struggles in their first season of Division 1 competition, but they did have a last-second win against a Binghamton team back in December that suddenly finds themselves at the top of the America East standings. More recently, Andrew Sims had 24 points as the Skyhawks Stoners won at Long Island 73-66.
Fairleigh Dickinson got off to a 5-0 start that included 3 wins away from home – one of those wins was a 65-57 victory at Stonehill that featured a 21-point performance from Demetre Roberts; despite a bad shooting night from the field, he was 10-for-12 from the foul line that helped ice the win for the Knights. Sacred Heart, however, did finally put a stop to the Knights’ 5-game NEC winning streak with a 92-85 win on FDU’s home court.
