Under the Radar Game of the Day – Saturday, January 6th

Liberty (11-4, 0-0) at Western Kentucky (11-3, 0-0) – 6:00 PM ET (CBS Sports Network)

Today’s UTR Game of the Day takes us to historic Diddle Arena where the Liberty Flames make their Conference USA debut against the hometown Western Kentucky Hilltoppers. Liberty started the season on a 6-game winning streak that included a championship run in the Myrtle Beach Invitational against Furman, Wichita State and Vermont. More recently, the Flames lost opportunities to get wins against FAU on the road, Charleston and Alabama on neutral courts and at home against Grand Canyon. Kyle Rode leads a balanced offensive attack with approximately 13 points a game.

WKU comes into today’s contest with more recent momentum; the Hilltoppers finished nonconference play with a 7-game winning streak. Their last 3 games were by a combined 6 points against Austin Peay, California Baptist and Abilene Christian. However, Liberty is the toughest team the Tops have faced so far this season. Don McHenry averages 14.9 points a game and 2.6 assists a game for WKU.
