Under the Radar Game of the Day – Wednesday, February 21st

Tonight’s UTR Game of the Day takes us to Des Moines, Iowa for a Missouri Valley matchup between the Belmont Bruins and the Drake Bulldogs. With Indiana State suddenly losing back-to-back games, Drake has suddenly found themselves in a first-place tie with the Trees after having won six of their last seven games (the only loss being at Indiana State). Kevin Overton had 23 points in Drake’s 95-72 win at home against Murray State over the weekend.

There are also important stakes for Belmont tonight; they are in a 3-way tie for fourth place with Southern Illinois and Northern Iowa. This is significant in that the 4th place team gets a first round bye in Arch Madness in St. Louis. After tonight, the Bruins have a relatively soft schedule with a road game at Murray State and home games against Missouri State and Evansville. Cade Tyson had 15 points in the Bruins’ last game – a 15-point win against Illinois-Chicago.
