-So, before we go any further, I want to make sure everyone knows what they are looking at. This IS NOT a ranking of how good I think the teams actually are. Not even close. Full disclosure, I still feel Houston is the best team in the country, and they aren’t even on the list.
This is merely an attempt to assess how hard it was for teams to win the games that they’ve won so far and ranking them based on that. Nothing more. You’ll notice that there are highly ranked teams that aren’t even on the list. That is because up until now, the only games they’ve won have been home buy games, and those should not even really count.
The NCAA Tournament will not look like this in March, nor will any of the metrics. If the March metrics look like this, then there is something horribly wrong with those metrics. This is a CHECKPOINT of CURRENT MERIT. It is not a ranking of how good the teams actually are.
