Merrimack (1-4) at UMass-Lowell (4-2, 2-2 D1) – 6:00 PM ET (ESPN+)
A pair of neighbors from northeast Massachusetts square off as the Merrimack Warriors make the short drive to visit the UMass-Lowell River Hawks tonight. Lowell is coming off of a 10-point win against Metro Atlantic preseason favorite Quinnipiac; the River Hawks were led by Great Osobor’s 23 points and 18 rebounds. Their only losses so far came on a West Coast trip to Gonzaga and Washington.
And speaking of the Metro Atlantic, Merrimack migrated from the Northeast Conference to the Metro Atlantic as they are now a full Division 1 member eligible for the NCAA Tournament. Their season started off with a promising 14-point win at home against Vermont, but the Warriors are currently looking to snap a 4-game losing streak. While they were competitive on the road against a Rutgers team ranked in the Top 25 (although that will likely not be the case when today’s poll comes out), they were blown out at Butler in their last outing.
