Under the Radar Game of the Day – Sunday, January 12th

Sacred Heart (6-9, 2-2) at Mount St. Mary’s (10-5, 3-1) – 2:00 PM ET (ESPN+)

Today’s UTR Game of the Day heads to The Mount in Emmitsburg, Maryland for a matchup between the Sacred Heart Pioneers and the Mount St. Mary’s Mountaineers. Both of these teams were once rivals in the Northeast Conference and have now taken their rivalry to the Metro Atlantic. The Mount has won five out of their last seven games and are now only a game back in the MAAC standings behind Marist. In their last game, Terrell Ard Jr. led the Mountaineers with 16 points in a 75-66 road win at Manhattan.

Sacred Heart is coming off of a heartbreaking 66-65 loss against Merrimack (okay, that was a bad pun) where Merrimack went scoreless for the final four minutes, but the Pioneers were unable to hit a potential game winning shot underneath their own basket. Tanner Thomas leads the Pioneers with 13.7 points a game and 5.2 rebounds per game.
