A pair of leaders in the Metro Atlantic square off tonight as the Merrimack Warriors travel south to visit the Quinnipiac Bobcats. Merrimack is tied with Marist for first place and is currently on a 3-game winning streak overall; their last game was a 69-62 win against Manhattan. Bryan Etumnu led Merrimack with 21 points in the win against the Jaspers.
Only a loss to Marist on the road is keeping Quinnipiac behind the co-leaders at the moment; the Bobcats have won their past two games since that contest. They defeated Siena 72-53 at home and then won a 63-62 thriller on the road at Iona. In that game, the Gaels nearly erased a 5-point deficit in the final minute but were unable to come up with the game winning shot as the clock expired.
