Princeton at Penn, 7:30 PM Eastern, CBS Sports Network

Saturday afternoon at 4:00 PM Harvard and Yale will meet at the Palestra in Philadelphia for a one game playoff to determine the Ivy League champion and automatic bid recipient.  Tonight, at the same exact location, Princeton and Penn will renew their rivalry one more time in the final Under the Radar Game of the Day this season.  While neither of these teams have any chance of making the NCAA tournament, Princeton can lock up a winning season with the victory tonight and has a chance to be invited to play in either the CBI or CIT.

Princeton enters tonight’s game at 8-5 in the Ivy League and 15-14 overall.  The Tigers have won three straight games heading into tonight’s contest and will look to end their regular season with their fourth consecutive victory.  Their wins this season include a 78-74 home victory over Penn back on January 10.  The Tigers have a young talented team with all the major contributors being sophomores and juniors.  They are led by Spencer Weisz, Hans Brase and Steven Cook.  Given their youth and talent, even if this is the last game of the season for Princeton, the future looks bright for this team heading into next season.

Penn has struggled all season, and enter the rivalry game tonight at 4-9 in conference and 9-18 overall.  On Sunday, the Quakers announced that tonight’s game will be head coach Jerome Allen’s final game at the helm, finishing a five year tenure that only saw one winning season.  The good news for the Quakers is that most of their team should be back next season, including their top player, Tony Hicks.  Whoever takes over as head coach next season will have their work cut out, however, as Penn, once a perennial NCAA Tournament contender, has not been in the Big Dance since 2007.  At least they can try to end their season on a winning note tonight if they beat their top rivals at home.

I would like to take one final moment to thank everyone who has followed the Under the Radar Game of the Day this season.  Have no fear though — I will be back starting Monday night next week with our CIT Game of the Day feature!
