Tonight’s UTR Game of the Day takes place in the US Virgin Islands – this is the final game of the day in the Paradise Jam between the Bowling Green Falcons and the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers. BGSU only has two games against D-1 competition thus far – a close loss at LSU mixed along with a home win against Jacksonville. The Falcons have been picked to win the MAC in preseason – Justin Turner currently leads the team averaging 19.3 points a game and 6.8 rebounds a game.
This is the first real notable test for the Hilltoppers this season – like Bowling Green, they are also favorites to win their respective conference (C-USA). The Hilltoppers’ most recent win in D-1 play was a win at Eastern Kentucky. Charles Bassey is currently averaging a double-double (14.8 PPG, 10.3 RPG) for WKU. The winner of tonight’s game will play the winner of Cincinnati-Illinois State in the Paradise Jam.
