Today’s UTR Game of the Day takes us to Highland Heights, Kentucky where the Norse of NKU will host the Penguins of Youngstown State in the season-opening league doubleheader for both teams. NKU won the opener 79-64 between both teams yesterday; both Adham Eleeda and Marquis Warrick led the Norse with 18 points. So far, NKU has been nothing but homecourt heroes as their other wins came against Ball State and Tennessee Tech at home; their losses were on the road against Chattanooga, Dayton and Kent State.
While Youngstown State was actually picked second in the league, the schedule makers did the Penguins no favors with all of their games against NKU, Wright State and Robert Morris all being on the road this year due to the COVID-19 altered schedule. Their only win against D1 competition so far was on the road at Binghamton; they also won a pair of non-D1 home games against Point Park and West Virginia Tech. Playing in 3 of the 4 games so far, Naz Bohannon has averaged 19 points a game and 8.3 rebounds a game for Youngstown State.
