Tonight’s UTR Game of the Day returns to Macon, Georgia for a SoCon showdown between the Wofford Terriers and the hometown Mercer Bears. Mercer found their on our collective radars (no pun intended) with an early-season win at Georgia Tech, and they have maintained a consistent winning culture this season with a 7-1 mark, albeit a 4-1 mark against D1 competition. Maciej Bender led the Bears with 21 points in their most recent outing – an 81-71 victory at Kennesaw State.
Wofford comes into tonight’s game with one victory against D1 competition so far this season – that was an 88-77 win at home against Coastal Carolina. In their most recent game, foul trouble haunted Wofford in a 70-52 loss at Texas A&M. Storm Murphy has led Wofford with 17.5 points a game through their first six contests this season.
