So many choices for today’s UTR Game of the Day (Furman-Chattanooga, Bowling Green-Ohio, Western Carolina-ETSU were a few choices), but today we go to the Music City where the Belmont Bruins will host the Murray State Racers in what could be a preview of the OVC Championship game later this season. The Bruins have had one blip on their season with a surprising loss to Samford at home, but are now on a five-game winning streak that includes a season sweep of Tennessee State. Luke Smith is currently leading Belmont with 17.6 points a game; he is shooting at a roughly 48% clip from 3-point land.
Murray State has already split their season series with Austin Peay, but the Racers missed an opportunity for a season sweep despite a 6-point lead at halftime on the road against the Govs last week. Tevin Brown had 18 points and Justice Hill had 17 points in the Racers’ loss to Austin Peay.
