It’s David Dorman’s turn to put together this week’s Bracket Projections.  His notes for the week are located below the bracket…

DAVID’S NOTES ON THE BRACKET:

-NEXT IN LINE: Northwestern, Wake Forest, Mississippi State, Cincinnati, Washington State

-New Mexico State was closer to a #13, but got bumped up a line due to bracketing procedures

-All 7 SEC bids were given out by the end of the #7 line, and that is Arkansas, who I expect to move up in the bracket shortly.

-The Big Ten led the way with 8 bids, with the SEC and Big 12 getting 7 each.

-Memphis ins in trouble and falling quickly.  This team had a protected seed in my preseason bracket and is currently right on the cutline.

-The Mountain West has three teams in today’s bracket but was close to only 1 bid.  Only Colorado State is safe in my mind as of today.

-I am very surprised with how the Missouri Valley has underperformed.  They only have one team in the bracket, and the league collectively disappointed big time in the pre-conference games with plenty of good opportunities.

-The ACC has 6 teams in today, but Virginia and Virginia Tech are also right on the cutline.  This season could be a record low number of ACC bids in the last 20 years.
