Marshall (0-0) at Queens University (o-0) – 7:00 PM ET (ESPN+)

After a brief hiatus, the UTR Game of the Day returns to Hoops HD as the Marshall Thundering Herd begin their season on the road against a Queens team that will be making their debut in Division I this season. Marshall also moves from Conference USA to the Sun Belt this season – the highlight of their program in recent years was a C-USA Championship in 2018 that included a victory in the NCAA Tournament against Wichita State before losing in the 2nd round against in-state foe West Virginia. Taevion Kinsey and Andrew Taylor are a pair of seniors returning to lead the Herd this season.

The Queens University Royals are located in Charlotte, North Carolina and have a successful recent history in NCAA Division II – they have advanced to the D-II Final Four on two occasions (2003, 2018) and the D-II Elite Eight on one other occasion (2019). Queens will begin their Division I transitional period and will be eligible for the NCAA Tournament in 2026-27. Last season, Queens went 30-4 before losing in the regional finals to Augusta. They do begin the season without head coach Grant Leonard for the first five games due to a DWI charge, however.
