Montana (3-4) at Southern Miss (7-0) – 8:00 PM ET (ESPN+)
Tonight’s UTR Game of the Day takes us to Hattiesburg, Mississippi – home of the Southern Miss Golden Eagles. They will be hosting Montana in their first D1 game since winning the Cancun Challenge (lower division) prior to Thanksgiving. Couple that with wins over Vanderbilt and Liberty on the road and Southern Miss is off to their best start since 2006-07; this is the fourth time in program history that they’ve started 7-0. Felipe Haase had a double-double (17 points, 11 rebounds) in their last game against non-D1 Mobile.
Montana is coming off of a tough 59-56 on the road at Air Force; even though the Grizzlies didn’t allow a field goal in the final five minutes against Air Force, a late 2nd-half rally fell just short. Prior to that game, Montana went 2-1 in their own MTE that featured wins against St. Thomas and Merrimack and a loss against Troy.
