Today’s UTR Game of the Day features a pair of teams along Interstate 40 in North Carolina; the Panthers of High Point hit the road to take on the Seahawks of UNC-Wilmington. HPU is coming off of a tough 87-79 loss; Zack Austin just missed out on a double-double with 12 points and 9 rebounds in that game. Prior to that contest, the Panthers had a 5-game winning streak that included wins against Central Michigan and Tennessee State in the SoCal Challenge.
With all the attention that Charleston and Towson have gotten in the Colonial so far this season, the Seahawks have established themselves as another contender for the league crown this season. They got off to a 1-3 start, but those losses came against North Carolina, UConn and Oklahoma. Since then, the Seahawks have a championship in the Baha Mar Nassau Championship and a 7-game winning streak. The best win out of those games was a 55-51 win against North Texas in the championship game of the Baha Mar tournament. Trazarien Wright leads the Seahawks with 13.0 points a game and 5.8 rebounds a game.
