Under the Radar Game of the Day – Tuesday, November 21st

Today’s UTR Game of the Day takes us to the Cayman Islands for the 3rd place game of the Cayman Islands Classic; the Akron Zips will be matched up against the Drake Bulldogs. This was a potential championship matchup, but with both teams 1-1 so far in this tournament, this matchup still came to fruition. Akron beat FIU in their opener but lost to Utah State 65-62 in the semifinal round despite 25 points and 13 rebounds from Enrique Freeman.

Drake opened with an 85-77 win against Oakland, but the Bulldogs were blitzed by Stephen F. Austin 92-68 in yesterday’s round. Drake’s schedule doesn’t give them much margin for error, so they probably need to capitalize on this opportunity more than Akron at this early stage. Tucker DeVries averages 18 points a game and 6.5 rebounds a game for Drake.
