Tonight’s UTR Game of the Day takes us to Terre Haute, Indiana for the first conference game of the year nationally this season; the Southern Illinois Salukis visit the Indiana State Sycamores. The Salukis are coming off of a 3rd place finish in the Cancun Challenge where they lost to eventual champion James Madison 82-76 and defeated the New Mexico State Aggies 81-54. Xavier Johnson averages 23 points a game and 5.4 assists per game for the Salukis.
The Trees are coming off of 3 consecutive wins in the Ball Dawgs Classic in suburban Las Vegas in a nonbracketed MTE. Their first two wins came against Rice and Pepperdine; they edged Toledo 76-74 to complete the 3-game sweep. Isaiah Swope hit a 3-pointer with 36 seconds remaining to give the Trees the lead for good in that game.
