Under the Radar Game of the Day – Wednesday, January 31st

Indiana State (18-3, 9-1) at Belmont (12-9, 5-5) – 7:30 PM ET (ESPN)

It’s been a while since the UTR Game of the Day has been to the Boulevard this past calendar year, but tonight we had to Nashville where the Indiana State Sycamores visit the Belmont Bruins. A four-game losing streak has brought the Bruins to around the .500 mark, even though that can mostly be attributed to a stretch where three of the four games were on the road against contenders like Indiana State, Bradley and a tough Illinois State team. Keishawn Davidson scored 17 points in their most recent outing where they got back into the win column with a 74-65 victory against Illinois-Chicago.

Indiana State is currently the favorite to win the Missouri Valley Conference this year, and there is an outside chance we could hear their name in the bracket on Selection Sunday even if they fail to win Arch Madness coming up in about a month’s time. The Trees began their most recent 5-game winning streak with a 30-point spanking against Belmont at home 18 days ago. More recently, they beat Bradley 95-86 in overtime at home to avert what could have been a three-way tie at the top of the conference.
