Under the Radar Game of the Day – Sunday, February 25th

Wright State (16-12, 11-6) at Oakland (19-10, 14-4) – 3:00 PM ET (ESPN+)

Today’s UTR Game of the Day takes us to the Blacktop in Oakland, Michigan for a Horizon League matchup between the Oakland Golden Grizzlies and the Wright State Raiders. A win today for Oakland would clinch at least a first-place tie and all but effectively give them the #1 seed (barring a catastrophic loss against 1-win Detroit Mercy in their regular-season finale). The Griz already won their first matchup at Wright State 74-60; Trey Townsend had 19 points in that victory for Oakland.

Wright State is mathematically alive (albeit barely) for the #1 seed in the upcoming Horizon League Tournament, but more importantly they are trying to fend off archrival Northern Kentucky for one of the Top 4 seeds; they get to host quarterfinal round matchups on their home floor before the semifinals and championship are played at the Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis. In the Raiders’ last outing, Trey Calvin led Wright State with 25 points in a 93-78 win against Detroit Mercy.

And on a final note, also keep in mind that Green Bay (12-5 in the Horizon) is hosting Youngstown State (12-6 in the Horizon) today. Should Youngstown State win and Oakland win, Oakland would clinch the outright regular season title.
