Hofstra (9-4, 0-0 CAA) at James Madison (7-4. 7-4 CAA) – 4:00 PM EST (FloHoops)

Today’s UTR Game of the Day takes us to the campus of JMU where the Dukes will host the Hofstra Pride in the Colonial conference opener for both teams. This game will also be a rematch of the CAA Quarterfinals from last year in which Hofstra came out victorious. Hofstra has been all over the place this season – one minute they’re losing at home to San Jose State, another minute they’re winning at UCLA, but they do come into today’s game having won five out of their last six games. Their leading scorer Eli Pemberton (17.1 PPG) was named CAA Player of the Week for his efforts against Manhattan and at Princeton.

While James Madison was picked to finish fourth in the league this year, they did actually garner 3 first-place votes in the coaches/media preseason poll. They brought in a freshman class of six players, one of whom is starting (Michael Christmas – 8.1 PPG/6.7 RPG) and three of whom have played in each game thus far this season. The Dukes recently won at Fordham thanks to a 22-point performance from Matt Lewis.
